Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to www.worldmeditationfoundation.org (“our website”), operated by World Meditation Foundation (“WMF”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a registered non-profit charitable foundation in Liechtenstein (Commercial Register (Handelsregister) no. FL-0002.730.406-2), Pflugstrasse 20, 9490 Vaduz, Liechtenstein.

1.1 Donation data

Where online donations are available, the Foundation receives the contact, billing and transaction information needed to administer your gift. Payment details are entered into RaiseNow’s hosted service and the payment providers shown at checkout. The WordPress websites do not collect or store full card or bank details.

We use donation information to administer your gift, provide confirmations, keep required accounting records and prevent fraud. News updates and public acknowledgement require separate permission, as described in sections 1.2 and 1.3. A payment confirmation is not necessarily a tax receipt; contact unworldmeditationfoundation@gmail.com about receipt availability.

1.2 News-update data

Where a news-update option is offered, we use your email address to send the updates you request. This permission is optional and separate from your gift. You can withdraw it by contacting us using section 1.13, or through an unsubscribe facility provided in the update email.

1.3 Public-recognition data

Where public acknowledgement is offered, we ask for separate, optional permission to use your chosen display name in the materials described in our Acknowledgement Terms. Donating alone does not give this permission. You can withdraw it using the contact details in section 1.13.

1.4 Other data we collect

Contact-form and enquiry messages: your name, email and message, used only to respond to you.

Event-toolkit and partnership requests: contact details and the information you provide, used to fulfil your request.

1.5 Legal basis for processing

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Liechtenstein’s Data Protection Act (Datenschutzgesetz, DSG). We process donation data on the basis of the contract formed when you make a gift (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), our legitimate interest in fraud prevention and accurate accounting (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and to meet legal record-keeping obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We process news-update and public-recognition data only on the basis of your explicit, separately given consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time without affecting any gift already made.

The information required to complete a gift is identified at checkout. Information for news updates and public acknowledgement is optional and does not affect whether you can donate.

We do not carry out any automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you (Art. 22 GDPR).

1.6 Who we share data with

We use service providers for donations, payment processing, website hosting and email delivery. Their roles, services and applicable data-processing terms are reviewed before activation:

RaiseNow AG — the donation service used when online donations are enabled.

The payment providers identified at checkout — payment processing through the Foundation’s connected accounts.

Kinsta — hosting of the new WordPress websites. Its included Cloudflare integration supports website delivery and security.

The Foundation’s configured email providers — delivery and handling of enquiries and separately requested updates.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

1.7 International data transfers

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use the safeguards applicable to the actual provider and transfer, such as a relevant adequacy decision or contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguards applying to your data.

1.8 How long we keep your data

1.9 Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in the GDPR and Liechtenstein’s DSG, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances; receive your data in a portable format; object to processing based on our legitimate interest; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdraw it). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in 1.13 below.

1.10 Children

Our websites are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

1.11 Security

We use HTTPS to protect data in transit on the new websites. Where online donations are enabled, payment fields are provided by RaiseNow and its connected payment services. The WordPress websites do not collect full card or bank details.

1.12 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date at the top will change, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
